Mimi Jobe
Living in western Nevada, Mimi is well known for her traditional landscape and wildlife paintings but for the last two years she has been doing special fairy fantasy illustrations for The Bradford Exchange, the largest producers of collector plates in the world. The fantasy line featuring unicorns, fairy princesses and magic castles is reproduced in Christmas ornaments, plates, sculptures and music boxes. A self taught artist, Mimi's career began as a designer and fashion illustrator. Eventualy she found her niche in the fine arts field. Working in watercolor and acrylic, she developed a style that captures a kind of magic that is evident in both her fantasy and traditional artwork. Many of the latter are published in cards and limited edition prints. Because of the diversity of subject material, she considers herself a romantic realist, drawing inspiration for her paintings from her love of nature and her special flower garden in her studio home on the slopes of the Sierras.
